The Administrative Assistant performs routine administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing, and maintaining paper and electronic files, and other duties as assigned.

Work Hours: Part-time with possibility of full-time.

Pay: $20-$22/hour

CORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to leading the Roaring Fork Valley to a carbon-free, net zero energy future. CORE does this by working with governments, utilities, businesses, other nonprofit organizations, and community members in the mountain region of Colorado through initiatives rooted in sustainability, renewable energy, electrification, environmental stewardship, climate action, and global warming greenhouse gas reduction. CORE is funded through a combination of local government and utility contributions, private and institutional donors, and state and federal grants. As a small nonprofit, CORE remains disciplined to successfully implement organizational strategy, while remaining nimble among changing opportunities and technologies, empowering staff to be effective and efficient in their work.

Summary:

The Administrative Assistant performs routine administrative functions such as drafting correspondence, scheduling appointments, organizing, and maintaining paper and electronic files, and other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Use computers for various applications, such as database management or word processing.
  • Create, maintain, and enter information into databases.
  • Set up and manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents, such as correspondence, or other material.
  • Operate office equipment, such as copiers or phone systems and arrange for repairs when equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain scheduling and event calendars.
  • Complete forms in accordance with company procedures.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for clients, customers, or supervisors.
  • Take meeting notes/minutes.
  • Make copies of correspondence or other printed material.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and write simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to do simple math
