Grants Overview

CORE grants are made possible with funding from the Aspen/Pitkin County Renewable Energy Mitigation Program (REMP). Our grants support projects that deliver measurable energy savings and reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, and serve to promote energy efficiency and integrative green design practices, resulting in the protection of natural resources and the environment. Local government agencies, non-profit organizations, schools, and private businesses operating in the Roaring Fork Valley are welcome to apply for the following CORE grants:

1) The Randy Udall Energy Pioneer Grant (TRUE Pioneer Grant) / $10,000-$200,000 / Annual deadline May 1
2) Design Assistance Grant / Up to $20,000 / Rolling application period, no deadline
3) Community Grant – Up to $10,000 / Rolling application period, no deadline
4) Net Zero Homes Grant – $2,000 – $8,000 / Rolling application period, no deadline

Projects are evaluated based on the following REMP objectives:
– Decrease energy consumption in the Roaring Fork Valley
– Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
– Promote energy efficiency and renewable energy generation
– Educate the community on energy-related issues
– Support research and development of cutting-edge, clean energy design technologies

Grants are available to support the following project types, among others:
– Innovative energy technology / integrated green building design analyses
– Renewable energy systems such as solar thermal, solar PV, hydro-electric, geothermal, wind)
– Energy efficiency improvements – (HVAC equipment upgrades, air sealing, insulation, window/door replacements, lighting retrofits)
